Sunscreen stain test
Do you know to what extent your sunscreen deposits stains - and if it's easy to get get rid of again? Here you see Wraptracks spot test of sunscreens.
Note: Sunscreens have many properties that can be tested. How does it protect against the sun - and for how long? Are there any problematic ingredients in the lotion? Can it be used at chiildren and so on.
This test is only focusing on one single property: How visible are stains of the sunscreen at fabric after wash?

How we did
The test included two types of stains:
Stain directly: Sun lotion applied directly to the fabric
Wipe-off stain: A stain obtained by sun lotion applied to skin and after 10 min wiped up by the fabric
We made test at to types of fabrics:
White fabric: White cotton canvas, washed before test
Grey fabric: Dark grey cotton canvas, washed before test
All stains was dry before we handled them this way:
Delicate wash: The stain was applied to liquid detergent and left overnight. Was then washed in machine at 30 degrees.
Normal wash: Was first treated as described at 'delicate wash' and then wash in machine at 60 degree
Calculation of test result:
The above gives for each sunscreen 8 fabric samples with stains. Each of the 8 samles was assigned a value from 0-3 where 3 is best. A value related to delicate wash counts 1,5 because we find it valuable if stains can be removed at 30 degress instead of 60. The 8 values are added to give the final test result for the sunscreen.
